(Local) Visits

Distance: Local in Phoenix metro, in roughly a 50-mile radius (Phoenix, Buckeye, Goodyear, Glendale, Peoria, Scottsdale, Mesa, Avondale, Gilbert, Chandler)

Fee: $100 - $300

Ages: 2 years old 👶- undergrad🧑‍🎓

Duration: 10 Minutes - 60 Minuets. If doing multiple speaking on the same day, please allow for breaks in-between events.

(Travel) Visits

Brenna is local to Arizona. She needs at least 90-120 days' notice for any travel speaking events. Visit the "Let's Talk" tab and email her a request! 🌏

Distance: Any! If it is outside of phoenix metro, please message Brenna about the location and time. She can travel nationwide in the US and internationally as well. Please keep in mind she primarily speaks English and has limited French and Spanish.

Fee: $200 to $500 + flights🧳+ hotel 🛌

Ages: 2 years old 👶- undergrad🧑‍🎓

(Virtual) Visits

Distance: Any! We can use Microsoft Teams, Skype, Zoom, or Facetime! Let Brenna know your preferred platform. She would also prefer to have a test link prior to arrival to help ensure a smooth presentation.

Fee: $100 - $300

Preparing for the school visit:

Book the author 30- 120 days in advance.
If travel is required, please make sure flights and accommodations are booked at least 30 days before arrival.
Consider transportation - if local Brenna can drive, please let her know where she can park. If she is traveling she may need to rent a car. Please tell her who she will be meeting with and where she will need to go for the visit. The more information prior the better to ease anxiety!
Share the itinerary - Is Brenna the only speaker, or are there other people presenting? Is this before or after lunch? Recess? She will want to be mindful of crowd energy and mood.
Have you had guest speakers before? What are your expectations? What has gone well historically and what do you wish had gone better? Let Brenna know ahead of time so you can work together for the best event!

Prepare the students

You may want to review and potentially use the free printables and lesson plans on this site. We have coloring pages, activity pages, and lesson plans. Check out this page FREE Printable Take your pick! If given advanced notice, Brenna can also bring the items, just tell her what you want her to bring and how many participants we will have.

Get your pencils and crayons set out, or any other supplies listed on the lesson plan.
Lesson plans are broken up by age and core topics (art, history, social science, math, physical education)
Publicize the event! Brenna will have flyers available upon request, or you may use your own.

Funding

Brenna's costs range from $100-$500 depending on duration and location. Additional funding may need to be secured if you are covering travel and accommodations.
Work with your accountant for financial details. Please secure payment prior to the visit. Previously we have used Paypal, checks, and direct deposit. HALF of the funds are due at booking, and the remaining will be due the day of the event.
We hear ya - funding can be an obstacle. Brenna adjusts her pricing often to keep it as affordable as possible! Below are suggestions for paying for a visit.
- Crowdfunding - asking parents and friends for small donations can add up!
- Ask the district if any discretionary funding is available to pay for visits.
- Share the cost with another class - combine the visit to share the fee.
- Check with local businesses for fundraising. Target, Walmart, Fired Pie and such will sometimes have fundraising opportunities or grants.
